Do the Unimaginable.
Designed to encourage group learning and problem-solving in pursuit of a goal. Robotics is a lab-based course that uses a hands-on approach to introduce the basic concepts of robotics, focusing on the construction and programming of autonomous mobile robots, culminating in an end-of-year robotic contest.
Objectives.
- Students know fundamentals of computer languages and machine logic using variables, arithmetic operations and logical operations.
- Students demonstrate the fundamentals of electric circuits explaining the usage of electricity, voltage, and currents.
- Students design models for robotic arms and lifting systems as well as models for mobility.
- Students employ software control and artificial intelligence to arrange systems, with many heterogeneous components interacting in organized, methodical ways.
Outcomes.
Students will have created a robotic system which can sense its environment, reason about it and act on it. Design, write and debug computer programs that control the mechanical system.
